This Privacy Policy explains how Typeology (the "Site") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

The MBTI questionnaire requires no sign-up and does not ask for your name or email. When you complete it, we record your answer choices, result type, language, and creation time to calculate the on-site type distribution.

The Big Five and Love Languages tests also require no sign-up. Raw answers are sent to the server to calculate a result and are not stored. Only when you explicitly opt in do we save dimension scores, language, and test version for aggregate on-site statistics.

To understand where the test and purchase flow stops, the Site records events such as starting the test, clicking the in-depth report, and starting checkout, together with a random per-tab identifier, language, result type, page category, and payment provider. This first-party funnel does not record IP addresses, email, full URLs, search content, or browser user-agent strings.

When you use an MBTI relationship challenge, the Site records anonymous challenge start, completion, and share events, together with the type code, language, pass or fail outcome, and terminal scenario. These fields are used to calculate aggregate on-site challenge statistics. We do not store the text of each answer or add names, email, IP addresses, full URLs, search content, or browser user-agent strings.

If you purchase an in-depth report, the payment provider may collect your email, payment method, device, and transaction data to process the payment and prevent fraud. Typeology stores the result type, language, amount, currency, payment provider, transaction reference, order status, creation/payment times, and a random unlock token. The Site does not store your full card number.

Drafts, Personal Results and Recovery

Unfinished Big Five and Love Languages answers exist only in sessionStorage for the current tab. They are cleared when you complete or restart the test and do not survive closing the tab. These tests do not retain raw answers after scoring. If you choose to contribute scores, a random capability is held in a 30-day cookie; the server stores only its hash and accepts one contribution per test slug, version, and language for that capability. Their answering routes are private, noindex pages with no ads or site analytics.

Drafts stay in localStorage in the current browser and are not restored after 7 days. “Start again” clears the answers. On completion, choices are converted into dimension scores and stored. An HttpOnly cookie grants 30-day access to your own result; the server stores only a hash of that capability. Public sharing links do not grant access to your answers or scores. For new submissions created with this feature, expired raw scores are cleared on the next test-page request; type, language, time, funnel identifier and aggregate counts remain. Older submissions without a personal-result capability are not covered by this cleanup.

Only a hash of a paid-guide recovery code is stored. Anyone holding it can restore that type in four languages. Treat it as a password. Replacing it invalidates the old code but does not sign out already-unlocked browsers. We do not email recovery codes or subscribe payment emails to marketing.

First-party events also cover coarse test progress, result/sample/report opens, section exposure, sharing, invitations and recovery. They use allowlisted source/campaign tags and random invitation IDs, not answers, email or full URLs. Exposure does not establish reading comprehension or effectiveness. For abuse prevention, Cloudflare-provided IP addresses are hashed with a time window into temporary counter keys; raw IPs are not stored. Expired counters are cleared by the next limited request; windows are at most one hour. Orders and usage events currently have no automatic deletion deadline. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep basic features working and serve ads. The anonymous funnel identifier is stored in sessionStorage for the current tab and expires when that tab closes. After an in-depth report purchase, an HttpOnly cookie keeps the unlock token in the current browser for up to one year; clearing cookies or changing browser/device removes that access state. Ahrefs Web Analytics is used for aggregate usage measurement and, according to its documentation, does not use cookies or collect personal data by default.

Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

• The Site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies, local storage, or other identifiers to provide and measure advertising.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (https://google.com/settings/ads).

Data Storage and Third-Party Services

• Cloudflare D1 stores test, anonymous funnel and challenge event, aggregate statistics, order, and report data.

• Google AdSense provides and measures advertising.
• Ahrefs Web Analytics measures aggregate traffic and sources.

We do not sell your data or use it for purposes not described in this policy.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
